So I've never actually tried to blog before, this is probably because I feel like my life is pretty boring. I'm a stay at home mom, 4 kids ranging from 11 years, to 10 months in age, 2 girls and 2 boys, I home school my three school age kids. I guess this means I'm a 1st grade, 5th grade and 6th grade teacher this year. I'm married to a pretty awesome guy, he's a sailor in the U.S. Navy, and I have to say we're pretty proud of him...at least most days! ;-) I married him almost 13 years ago, and am as crazy about him today, as I was the day I married him. Might be why there are so many kids in our house!! My kids are all pretty awesome as well, but of course I'm biased!
We live in Japan, have been here for about 3 years now. It's pretty cool, I just wish I would make myself sit down and learn the language. I feel like the kids and I miss out on a lot because we can't talk to the people we see when we are off base, and there would be a lot we could learn just by asking a stranger a question in a Japanese market! This is one of my goals this year in our home school studies, to learn some Japanese. A wonderful friend who lived here in Japan with us for a couple of year, gave me a copy of Rosetta Stone, so I'm going to try to use that and see what I can do.
Today was a busy day. We had to run a lot of errands on the base to make sure I had a few supplies in case the typhoon that's moving our way has much of an impact. Not a lot of stuff, but I have yet to see much of a storm here. Virginia was much worse for storms. I love the rain though, not crazy about the high winds that come with this kind of storm, but hey, ya have to take the good with the bad, you know? I guess if the weather doesn't get too bad tomorrow I'll have to run to the store again though. I forgot to get some Splenda, and some salt too.
I'm hoping to take a few minutes each day to sit down and write about what we did that day. how school was with the kids that day, what kind of things we did. If we went out and about to Japanese stores, or on a field trip, things like that.
If you're out there and you read this, let me know how I'm doing. I'm not generally very good at things like this, but even a home schooling, mother of four can get lonely and bored.
